PEAT bicycle maintenance event 16th May

May 7th, 2010 by kc | 0

Dear all

John Thraves and I have got our heads together and organised the cycle maintenance workshop to be held at Wareham Youth Centre. It is quite soon, 16th May, so we need to get the posters (click here to download) around in the next day or two. Poster attached, so please print and display if you have anywhere suitable. This workshop is focussed on Wareham and surrounds. I’ll do the library, newsagents, health food shop. Alison, could you put one up at PDC? Where else would be good?

John will be the main tutor and we currently have 2 cycle maintenance competent helpers, Peter Tinsley and Ian Nicol. Another one or two would be great. Anyone out there? Also we need a couple of people at least on the day to represent PEAT, make teas etc. I can’t be there the whole time because of my children. Also would anyone like to make a cake or two? The plan is that the first workshop will be 10 - 10:45 am with 15 mins for refreshments followed by the next one at 11:15 with the same format. Each will be for 7 people + their bikes. I’ve booked the first place! John will demonstrate each technique on his own bike then the participants will carry it out on their bike, helped by the assistants. John and I were going to get things set up at 9ish but helpers could get there 9:30am. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can help.

Tania
