Thursday 21st May:   A Crude Awakening

Hi to all PEAT People..just to let you all know what a fantastic evening it was…a full house with people sitting on the floor…all ages including children came along to find out what PEAT is all about.  Kevin the manager and staff  gave us a warm welcome.

Katie skipped around the Square and Compass garden rounding up late arrivals and those ordering locally brewed Cider..Louise gave a lively and humorous presentation, the best shot  being of  her granny wrapped in cosy blankets to show how she  copes with grandad’s energy saving habits!

A Crude Awakening….a strong first film that highlights Peak Oil, reinforcing the problems that this will bring.  There was a lively discussion afterwards, when everyone was encouraged to raise issues concerning Purbeck…eg  Transport, energy and housing.

We have already thanked each other..but because I was on home ground, I would like to say a special thanks to everyone in PEAT who contributed to making this an amazing first film screening…on behalf of PEAT we also say a big thank you to the..  Purbeck Film people (Mick and Carol Sharp), Kevin and staff at the Square and Compass and to all the people that came along to this first Transition Purbeck film screening.
